Earning that extra vote

Even strong supporters would agree Obama's strength isn't in intimate gatherings. But - he's working on it, and much like Hillary improved her large format speech drastically, Barack is getting better at reaching out in the small.

This is a cute video, more to lighten the mood than anything else. There's only 30 people here (roughly) but I suspect Obama can now count on 31 more votes.

Yeah, 30. 31. You'll see:

Update: According to someone who was there, it was more like 150 people.

But what is, in fact, a maid-rite?  It's like a sloppy joe or something?

Dude (none / 0)

I had the SAME question. Google was no help. Apparently regional dishes are it's Achilles heel.

Re: Earning that extra vote (2.00 / 1)

They're some kind of odd ground meat sandwich, not like a sloppy joe though.  Less sloppy.  I had one when I was doing a project in rural Iowa a few years back.  I'm not even sure what kind of meat it was, but it wasn't bad.  When in Rome.

Had never seen one before.  Have never seen another since.  I'll say this, I liked it better than Scrapple!

"odd ground meat sandwich" (2.00 / 1)

sounds like something you'd read in a forensics report.

Well sure, but I assumed they did not mean that every sandwich contained a Maid-Rite diner inside. :)

They're like a sloppy joe without the tomatoey sauce.

Re: Earning that extra vote (none / 0)

I was there liveblogging -- it was more like 150 people, plus about another 150 once the press corps arrived. I was thinking "he's speaking to 75,000 in three days..." Here's the liveblog.

Great liveblog (none / 0)

going to read it at length later.

And updating the totals. It was hard to tell from the video.
